Postal-place testing - limited source coverage
India Address Generator
Indian test addresses using source postal places, state or territory labels and six-digit PIN codes. The postal-place field is not assumed to be a municipal city or a real street delivery point.
GeoNames postal-place sample with a synthetic street. Limited source coverage; not delivery-verified.
India Address Format
A PIN code contains six digits. The generated layout places the synthetic house/street line above the source postal place, with district context where available and a state/PIN line. Post-office names can differ from everyday city names, so the original postal label is preserved instead of being rewritten to a nearby major city.

Counts describe this imported subset, not a national completeness percentage. A locality label may occur in more than one source group. Exact duplicates are removed; unsupported or inconsistent records are omitted, not repaired with guessed geography.
India Form-Testing Cases
Indian forms need to distinguish PIN from telephone country codes and other identifiers. Keep it as six text characters. Long office labels and multiword state names are useful layout cases; matching a source PIN and locality is still different from validating a customer's complete delivery address.
Generated records are for development, QA and demonstrations. They must not be used for mail delivery, identity checks, account verification or proof of residence. A synthetic result can coincidentally resemble an existing address; it is not guaranteed to be nonexistent.
Data and Attribution
Geographic data: GeoNames IN postal export, reused under CC BY 4.0. Downloaded 2026-09-05. The source provides no guarantee of accuracy, timeliness or completeness.
Postal-place relationships are retained from individual source rows, without mixing localities and codes independently. Coordinates, population figures and unrelated gazetteer fields are not included in the browser data.
India Address FAQ
Why is the locality sometimes a postal-office name rather than a city?
The dataset is organized around postal places. The generator keeps the source label rather than guessing a city from the PIN or replacing it with a district headquarters.
