Postal-place testing - limited source coverage
Colombia Address Generator
Colombian test addresses with source municipalities, departments and six-digit postal codes. Known retired Mapiripana mappings are excluded rather than renamed without supporting postal evidence.
GeoNames postal-place sample with a synthetic street. Limited source coverage; not delivery-verified.
Colombia Address Format
The generated road line uses a visibly marked TEST Calle, Carrera or Diagonal pattern with number groups. The municipality and six-digit postcode follow, then the department. Those road numbers are synthetic fixture values, not a surveyed road intersection, building location or actual rural delivery description.
TEST Calle 250 # 250-250 El Encanto 913010 Amazonas COLOMBIA
Synthetic format example, not a delivery address. The street or box line is generated test data.
UPU Colombia addressing reference. This reference documents postal layouts, not the validity of generated addresses.
Colombia Source Coverage
- Retained source rows
- 3,678
- Locality labels by area
- 1,140
- Covered source groups
- 33
The postal source retains older administrative relationships. The build removes the known Mapiripana municipality-code rows and does not guess a postcode for Nuevo Belen de Bajira. This means coverage is explicitly incomplete even when a code has the correct six-digit shape. Source postal boundaries are not treated as the current DANE administrative map.

Counts describe this imported subset, not a national completeness percentage. A locality label may occur in more than one source group. Exact duplicates are removed; unsupported or inconsistent records are omitted, not repaired with guessed geography.
Colombia Form-Testing Cases
Colombian address fields should accept numeric road patterns and punctuation without confusing the house-number groups with the postal code. Keep the six-digit code separate from a municipality identifier. These fixtures support parser and layout tests, not verification of a complete customer shipping address.
Generated records are for development, QA and demonstrations. They must not be used for mail delivery, identity checks, account verification or proof of residence. A synthetic result can coincidentally resemble an existing address; it is not guaranteed to be nonexistent.
Data and Attribution
Geographic data: GeoNames CO postal export, reused under CC BY 4.0. Downloaded 2026-09-05. The source provides no guarantee of accuracy, timeliness or completeness.
Postal-place relationships are retained from individual source rows, without mixing localities and codes independently. Coordinates, population figures and unrelated gazetteer fields are not included in the browser data.
Colombia Address FAQ
Why are some recently changed municipalities unavailable?
A new municipality name does not establish its postcode relationship. Unresolved records are omitted instead of being relabelled or assigned a nearby code merely to claim complete coverage.
