German Address Format

Deutsche Post and the Universal Postal Union place the street and house number on the first line, followed by the five-digit postcode and locality. German postcodes should not be prefixed with D- or DE-.

Musterstraße 24
10115 Berlin
GERMANY
  • Street line: synthetic German test term and house number
  • Locality line: matched five-digit postcode and city
  • Federal state: available as a filter and export field

See the official Deutsche Post addressing guidance and the UPU Germany format record.

Matched Geography and Synthetic Streets

Geographic fields and generated fields have different roles. Keeping that boundary visible makes the output useful for testing without presenting it as a verified residence.

Matched geographic data

  • City
  • Five-digit postcode
  • Federal state and code

Synthetic test data

  • Street term
  • House number
  • Optional letter suffix

Complete results are not Deutsche Post verified, not guaranteed deliverable and may coincidentally resemble an existing address.

Synthetic German Street Rules

Street lines use obvious test stems such as Muster, Beispiel andTest with German street types such as straße, weg andplatz. House numbers range from 1 to 299 and may use a lowercase letter suffix such as 52a. The generator does not package a real German street or resident-address directory.

Testing Uses and Limits

German test addresses can exercise checkout forms, postcode validation, state and city selectors, imports, exports and database fixtures. UTF-8 output preserves characters such as ä, ö, ü and ß, while postcodes remain strings so a leading zero is not lost.

Do not use generated records for receiving mail, account verification, identity checks, KYC bypass, impersonation or proof of residence. No person name, phone, email, coordinates or identity profile is generated.

Germany Data Source

City, state and postcode relationships come from a prepared local copy of the GeoNames Germany postal-code export under CC BY 4.0. The build removes unsupported state codes and unused coordinates, deduplicates rows and verifies the expected 16 federal states before publishing the browser file.

Germany Address Generator FAQ

What does the Germany address generator create?

It combines a clearly synthetic German-style street line with a matched city, federal state and five-digit postcode from one prepared geographic row.

Can I choose a German federal state or city?

Yes. Choose one of Germany's 16 federal states, then optionally narrow the generator to a city available in that state.

Are the postcodes real?

The five-digit postcode and city relationship comes from cleaned GeoNames postal geography. The completed street address is synthetic and is not Deutsche Post verified.

Why are company and bulk-recipient postcodes excluded?

GeoNames includes special recipient records alongside ordinary postal geography. The Germany dataset removes numeric administrative-code rows so company names are not presented as cities.

Can I export German test addresses?

Yes. Generate 1, 5, 10, 25 or 50 records, then copy them or download UTF-8 CSV and JSON files while preserving leading zeroes and German characters.

Can these addresses be used for mail or identity checks?

No. Results are synthetic test records, not guaranteed deliverable addresses, proof of residence or identity data.
